  • Roy was raised in rural Marble Rock, located in North Central Iowa, working alongside his father on the family farm until determining that farming was not in his DNA. 

  • Roy graduated from Rockford High School in 1981 and was honored as the Warrior of the Year. He played football for the Wartburg Knights as a running back, earning a B.A. in education from 1981 to 1985.

  • Roy has been married to Kelli since 1996 and they are proud parents of sons Logan and Cayden who are pursuing their own careers.

  • Roy enjoys tinkering in the yard and woodworking projects, often assisting with interior design projects.

  • Roy transitioned to finance in 1988 after teaching Biology and Life Sciences. He obtained CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) certification in 1999.

 

Hobbies:

Enjoys tinkering in the yard and woodworking projects, often assisting with interior design projects.

Music and Taste:

Eclectic musical taste ranging from Classic Rock and Country to Christian music.

Favorite Indulgences:

Prefers The Macallan Double Cask 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch.

Enjoys homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn, a reminder of his rural upbringing. 

Little Known Fact:

Roy and his wife spent 17 years enjoying their sons' high-performance alpine ski racing.

Favorite Restaurant and Getaway:

Hemisphere Bistro is Roy's favorite local restaurant.

Enjoys getaways to Napa Valley with his wife and skiing adventures out west with his sons.
